Gransolar Group is one of the signatories of The Climate Pledge, an initiative for companies and organizations to take collective action in facing the world’s greatest crisis, and work together to build a safe and healthy planet for future generations.
The Climate Pledge was founded in 2019 as a private initiative committed to achieve net-zero carbon production worldwide by 2040. Since then, a growing list of major companies and organizations have joined. These signatories play a critical role in stimulating investment in the development of low-carbon products and services. These principles are in unison with Gransolar Group’s mission and vision to provide clean energy to users from all sectors, anywhere in the world.
Today, The Climate Pledge has celebrated reaching 300 signatories around the world. Companies and organizations of every sector that, like Gransolar Group, share a commitment towards the environment and with the future of our planet. The pledge is to keep working together to crack the climate crisis and solve the challenges of decarbonizing our economy, with a very specific set of actions to carry out.
Signatories that sign The Climate Pledge commit to the following three principles:
- Regular Reporting. Measure and report greenhouse gas emissions on a regular basis.
- Carbon Elimination. Implement decarbonization strategies in line with the Paris Agreement through business change and innovations, including efficiency improvements, renewable energy, materials reductions, and other carbon emission elimination strategies.
- Credible Offsets. Take action to neutralize any remaining emissions with additional, quantifiable, real, permanent, and socially beneficial offsets to achieve net-zero annual carbon emissions by 2040.
These principles are easy for Gransolar Group to comply with, as they are already inherent to the DNA of the company, which is committed since its foundation to making a positive contribution to the well-being of society and the environment. Solar photovoltaic power is already the cleanest, most sustainable, most abundant, and cheapest energy source available. Advances in energy storage now allow the cost-effective use of solar energy to be extended beyond daylight hours.
